La Vita Bliss

A Mediterranean rebrand on Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc Marina, Vietnam

Design render — the rebrand is in progress

Formerly Bliss Phu Quoc — a boutique hotel in the Waterfront precinct of Phu Quoc Marina, a few minutes from Long Beach, now being rebranded as La Vita Bliss with interiors by LEAF Design of Ho Chi Minh City.

The hotel occupies a shophouse in Phu Quoc Waterfront, a marina precinct built in the manner of a Mediterranean coastal village, a short walk back from Bãi Trường — Long Beach — on the island’s south-west coast. Its interiors, until now, were Indochine. The rebrand resolves that mismatch rather than inventing a new one.

The design concept is built on one idea: shaped by water, layered by time. Soft, rounded, layered forms echo sediment strata, sand after the tide draws back, and coastal rock worn smooth by water — a Wabi-Sabi sensibility that values natural materials, deliberate imperfection and surfaces that age well.

The material palette runs to earth brown, beige, cream and ivory, with restrained jade-green accents, travertine stone, dark timber, matte metal and woven rattan — the last a native Vietnamese material. Lighting is layered and warm, at 2700–3000K.

The facade keeps the building’s existing proportions and its arched windows, balconies and mouldings, and reworks them in a modern Mediterranean palette: soft terracotta with jade-green joinery, and a single restrained sign.
